Recently supplied: A 6 core flat cable used for linking telephone handsets and other communications equipment, often referred to as line cordage.
The specification is no longer supported by BT but the specification (CW1311) is still used as a reference point by UK handset manufacturers .
Deva supplies several variants of this cable in both pvc and LSZH at a decent MOQ and competitive price.
Construction
The cable supplied is constructed from 7 strands of 0.15mm tinned copper with pvc insulation and overall pvc sheath which is FLAT and has a slight ridge (seam) midway across one of the flat sides to indicate which of the cores is number 1.
The cores are chalked to facilitate easy stripping. The cable in photo is 2.45mm x 6.60mm.
This cordage can come in 4 and 6 way as well as an 8 way modular variant. It can come in an optional flat or ‘D’ shaped cross section and in any colour (black and white are most popular).
Applications – telephone handsets, equipment and expanding network inside a room as it can be laid relatively flat on skirting boards and around door frames.
