Festoon cables are usually installed in temporary installations and are designed to accept quick lamp holders (IP54 rated) which are fitted at intervals along the cable. It allows electricians to create bespoke festoon harnesses for lighting projects. Rubber festoon is used for permanent outdoor installations in accordance with BS EN 60598-1:2000. Commercial and domestic applications are numerous but include pub gardens, patios, marquees, gazebos, signage, fascias, animal sheds, festive displays and entertainment industries.

Festoon harnesses can be constructed
from either 1.5mm2 stranded flexible conductors with rubber type EM2 (PCP) insulation / jacket or 2.5mm2 stranded flexible conductors with arctic grade pvc insulation / jacket. The cables in photo are flat in design with chalked parallel brown and blue cores (Ho5RNH2-F) but they can also be round (H05RN-F) type.
The operating temperature is -40DegC to 80DegC. The cable is 300/500v rated and 240v mains operated.
Cable is RoHS and REACH compliant.
Lengths can be supplied on reels from 100m-1000m.
