Fire resistant cables are suitable for public buildings and offices, entertainment venues, high rise buildings and many other applications where circuit integrity for emergency lighting, alarm or power is essential in the event of fire.
The Loss Prevention Certification Board(LPCB) is run by BRE Global (Buildings and Research Establishment). LPCB is an independent third party certification body offering an internationally recognised certificate for fire safety standards.
Our fire resistant cables are BRE Global / LPCB approved.
Standards met:
- FIRE RESISTANCE – BS 6387:2013 (Category CWZ)
- FIRE RESISTANCE – EN 50200:2015 (class PH120)
- FIRE RESISTANCE – EN50200:2015 Annex E (30 mins)
- LOW SMOKE EMISSIONS – EN 61034-2:2005+A2:2020
- CORROSIVE AND ACID GAS – EN 60754-1:2014
- FLAME PROPAGATION – EN60332-1-2:2004
Construction
The cable featured is a 2pr x 1.5mm2 + E. Conductors are Class 1 solid bare copper to meet BS EN 60228, extruded with 200DegC silicone insulation to meet BS EN 50363-5. Cores are taped with a MICA/glass fire barrier tape, then an earth wire (0.5mm2 tinned copper) and an overall fire foil over sheathed with thermoplastic low smoke, zero halogen and reduced flame propagation compound.
Size options are 2, 3, 4 core x 1.0, 1.5, 2.5mm2.
Cable is 300/500v rated with min/max operating temperatures of -20DegC to +90DegC.
Fire test alone: 950DegC 180 mins.
Fire test with water: 650DegC 15 mins, then apply fire and water together 15 mins.
Fire test with impact: 950 DegC, 15 mins/30 times.
Fire retardance compliant to BS EN50200-2015 PH30 (suitable for emergency applications where circuit must be operational for up to 30 minutes). , PH120 (for installations requiring enhanced circuit integrity for up to 120 minutes).
