Pull Cable

A Pull cable used in safety critical systems for controlling conveyor belt systems in quarries, mines, tunnels, processing plants, port and railway depots etc. The cable (pullwire) is the primary stopping device as part of a Category 3 emergency stop switch system to BS EN ISO 13849-I PLe (Cat3).

Pull wire is a critical cable manufactured to the old BC Spec 643. This cable is not readily available in the UK market due to its special design. Deva have been supplying a range of pull cables since 2007. The cable has always been manufactured to an extremely high quality.

The construction of this pull wire cable is made up of

conductors comprising 24 x 0.2mm tinned copper wires extruded with T1 pvc.  Cores in the 4c version (see photo)  are red, yellow, green, black (+blue, white for 6C).

Cores are twisted with a 60mm lay length and a polyester binder tape is applied over the laid up cores. A braid of high tensile brass coated steel wires then form an armouring for the cores. The outer jacket is then applied in such a way that it is extruded into the braid to a depth of not less than 50% of the braid thickness. (see photo).

The jacket is made from T1 pvc compound and is circular, smooth and unmarked.

Voltage test on finished cable is 2000V a.c. 300v rating. Operating temp is 80DegC and overall nominal size of 4c is 8.75mm and 6c is 10.05mm

Sheath colour in this instance is red but any colour is possible.

Cable can be supplied in lengths of 500m on plywood reels.

Pull cable complies with EU RoHS 3 Directive 2011/65/EU, REACH and IEC 60332-1.
